Welcome to Wired For You, my personal blog on musings for all things created as an ”Artisan Jewelry Artist”. I’m trying to crank out this blog using WordPress, which is foreign to me. I’m more used to producing web sites with Adobe’s suite of web designer tools and this is my effort at trying to reduce development time. It may not be working.
Under the hood of WordPress in that land beyond, in the Administration section, are all kinds of gadgets and editing tools that are supposed to make life as a blogger really easy. On closer inspection however, you still must know html, you still must have a good understanding of web design and layout and you absolutely must be able to read, albeit an eight grade level. This really is not intuitive, and I find myself looking for intuitive buttons like “click here for your CSS file”, which even though the entire layout is built around CSS, I can not seem to find.
So, we are going to see how this goes. I may ditch this format entirely. Then again, if I can get it to behave the way I want it to, I might just keep it.
And the ONLY reason why I wanted to shorten my development time on my blog, is because I am busy setting up my Etsy Store for online shopping and that alone requires a tremendous amount of work.
Who in the world said I needed a website, a blog and several stores to be able to sell my creations? Remember the days when your website alone was the engine that drove your business? How is it that Google now dominates my workday by demanding I comply with their algorithms on search? Why is SEO (Search Engine Optimization) this little squirmy guy running all over my pages with a microscope hunting down illegal words and phrases that kicks me across the football field and out the stadium? Huh?
Thanks for visiting my Daily Muse!
